Township government was adopted in 1850 and was mandated by the State of Illinois to provide Assistance to the Needy, Road & Bridge maintenance, and Property Assessment. Fremont Township is located in Lake County, Illinois. Lake County is divided into 18 townships. Generally, there are eight elected officers, elected for terms of four years: Supervisor, Clerk, Assessor, Highway Commissioner, and four Trustees. Fremont Township’s area consists of six square miles and includes portions of the following towns: Mundelein, Libertyville, Grayslake, Round Lake, Round Lake Park, Long Grove, Wauconda, Hawthorn Woods, and North Barrington.

Village Homesteading of Mundelein is in charge of the Fremont Township Community Garden. They are looking for all types of volunteers to help them with the Garden.

Fremont Township along with State Representative Ed Sullivan will be hosting a document shredding and electronic recycle event on Saturday May 3, 2014 from 9:00 - 12:00.

AARP 55 AND OLDER DEFENSIVE DRIVER CLASS

We will be hosting an AARP Defensive Driving Class on Thursday May 8 & Friday May 9, 2014

from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Please call 847.223.2847 to register or for additional information. The class size is limited to 25 participants. The cost is $15.00 for AARP members, $20.00 for non-AARP members.

ADDRESS CHANGE

The address of the Administrative offices - Supervisor, Clerk, and Assessor- has been changed from 22376 W. Erhart Road to 22385 W. Illinois Route 60.

The Highway Department address remains the same at 22376 W. Erhart Road.

There is a Mundelein Lions Club dropbox located in our lobby for used eyeglasses.

 

EXPANDED PACE BUS SERVICE

The PACE Northwest Demonstration Project has expanded to 5 days a week from the hours of 5:30 am until 6:45 pm. This transportation service is a curb-t0-curb dial-a-ride service for seniors, disabled, and the general public. For additional information, please download the rider's guide. An application must be on file with the township before you can start using this service.
